Jane Rankin
Bronze Sculptor
Jane Rankin has lived many places across the US and overseas. When touring Turkey, her interest in sculpture was peaked upon viewing the classical sculpture of ancient Greece. She had always dabbled in art and always appreciated the three dimensional form, but this experience solidified sculpture as her raison d'etre.
After moving to Colorado fifteen years ago, Rankin studied under various sculptors in Taos, Scottsdale, and Loveland.
Her mission is to sculpt that with which people can identify, to provide a catalyst for reflections and pleasant memories. She believes we need beauty in our lives for emotional and social well-being. Her focus is creating work with sensitivity and skill, with a beauty of workmanship, clarity of expression, and integrity of design. Years of observation as a schoolteacher and volunteer allow her a connectedness with this preferred subject, and an ability to capture the naturalness and spontaneity of childhood.
